About the Journal
The Thai Journal of National Interest is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing critical and forward-looking scholarship on geopolitics, geo-economics, sovereignty, and strategic development in a transforming global order.
The journal serves as a forum for interdisciplinary research that interrogates power configurations, institutional resilience, technological transformation, and national development strategies within shifting regional and global dynamics.
Aims and Scope
The journal publishes original research in the following areas:
• Geopolitics and Strategic Analysis
• Geo-economics and International Political Economy
• Sovereignty, State Capacity, and Institutional Transformation
• Development Strategy and Innovation Policy
• Public Policy and Governance
• Education Policy, Human Capital Development, and Innovation Ecosystems
• Regional Development and Global Governance
The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, comparative, and interdisciplinary research that contributes to analytical clarity and policy-relevant insight.
Publication Frequency
The journal publishes four (4) issues per year:
• Issue 1: August – October
• Issue 2: November – January
• Issue 3: February – April
• Issue 4: May – July
Publication Policy
• The journal publishes manuscripts in English only to ensure international accessibility and academic visibility.
• Submissions must be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
• Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references, data, figures, tables, and formulas.
• The editorial board reserves the right to edit manuscripts for clarity and formatting without altering academic content.
• Manuscripts that fail to comply with revision requirements within the specified timeframe may be declined.
• Final publication decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.
Submission Requirements
1. Full manuscript in Microsoft Word format (6,000–9,000 words; A4 size).
2. Submission via the official online submission system.
Formatting Guidelines
• Page margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
• Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
• Line spacing: 1.5
• Decimal numbering system (1., 1.1., 1.2., etc.)
• References must follow APA 7th edition style
Peer Review Process
1. Initial editorial screening within two (2) working days.
2. Double-blind peer review by at least three (3) qualified experts.
3. Reviewers selected based on subject expertise and scholarly contributions.
4. Review process normally takes approximately 2–4 weeks.
5. Evaluation criteria include originality, rigor, theoretical contribution, and relevance.
6. Final decision made by the Editorial Board.
7. Review records are archived for five (5) years.
Copyright and Open Access Policy
Articles may be copied and distributed for non-commercial purposes with proper citation of the author(s), journal title, and DOI.
Modified or derivative works may not be redistributed without permission.
Types of Articles
The journal accepts the following types of submissions:
1. Research Articles
Original scholarly works presenting theoretical, empirical, or mixed-method research with clear methodological rigor and academic contribution.
2. Review Articles
Critical and systematic reviews of literature that synthesize existing scholarship and provide analytical insight into emerging debates or research directions.
3. Academic Articles
Conceptual or analytical papers that advance theoretical discussion, policy analysis, or interdisciplinary perspectives relevant to the journal’s scope.
4. Book Reviews
Scholarly evaluations of recently published books relevant to geopolitics, geo-economics, development strategy, public policy, or related fields.
